Brenda Jones

Brenda Jones is the Senior Administrative Coordinator for Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Intellectual Property & Commercialization and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, Commercialization & Entrepreneurship. She is responsible for coordinating a multitude of support activities for both the AgriLife Research and Engineering licensing teams with Texas A&M Technology Commercialization (TTC) and sponsored research programs.

Brenda generally is focused on tackling any activity that makes the licensing teams’ jobs easier. She tracks and monitors intellectual property actions for the licensing teams and coordinates information for such actions with TTC and outside counsel. She also assists licensing staff with preparation and tracking of internal approval routings for new agreements. As agreements are established, she communicates with various licensees regarding upcoming deadlines and legal correspondence.

She also oversees and manages the day-to-day administrative operations for AgriLife’s intellectual property office as it relates to travel, purchasing, organization, communications, and other administrative matters.

Brenda has served in the past as a member of the A&M System Staff Council and has worked for the A&M System for 25 years, 18 of which has been within intellectual property and commercialization matters. She was awarded A&M System’s Employee of the Quarter in 2012. Brenda loves learning and takes every opportunity to do so. She has numerous certificates, including for Project Management and Administrative Office Specialist. Brenda’s joy is the love and support of family, cooking, reading, all types of music, and her Christian beliefs.
